Andrew Holstine, a partner at Schoenberg Finkel Beederman Bell Glazer LLC, focuses his practice in the areas of estate, gift and corporate transactions. Mr. Holstine is a frequent speaker on these topics for the public and for professional groups. Mr. Holstine has also been active on several boards or as general counsel for several organizations including The Chicago Farmers, the Northeast Illinois Special Recreation Association, and two foundations promoting medical, educational and charitable programs in Vietnam.

Norm serves as general corporate counsel for companies, large and small, and also serves as trial and appellate counsel in federal and state courts throughout the United States. He serves as an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, is an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law, where he teaches trial advocacy, and is active in a number of professional, charitable and civic organizations.
Norm has repeatedly been selected by his own peers in a statewide evaluation as one of “Illinois’ Leading Lawyers” in Commercial Litigation and Closely and Privately Held Business Law, a distinction accorded to less than 5% of the state’s most respected and experienced practicing attorneys. He has also been featured as one of Illinois’ top attorneys in the area of business litigation in Chicago Lawyer Magazine and Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine. Norm most recently was selected to become a Fellow in the society of the Litigation Counsel of America, whose membership is limited to one-half of one percent of North American lawyers, judges and scholars.

Mr. Holstine has been representing families and business owners for over 20 years. Mr. Holstine practices in the areas of estate and tax planning, asset protection planning, business succession planning, corporate transactions, real estate, and probate and trust administration. Mr. Holstine has experience in the administration of trust and estates including gift and estate tax return preparation, drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, decanting trusts, family settlement agreements, generation-skipping planning, tax planning for non-citizens, implementation and administration of irrevocable trusts, grantor trusts and special needs planning. Mr. Holstine has worked with families on multi-generational planning, advising owners of closely-held businesses, counseling professionals and families who are accumulating assets, and individuals seeking to protect their wealth and their descendants from tax and creditor issues.
